IQ Mixer Sideband & Leakage Simulator (2D)

Interactive 2D IQ-mixer simulator: watch the exact I/Q upconversion math produce a desired drive tone, an unwanted image sideband and a constant LO leakage bleed on a live spectrum bar chart, a scrubbable time-domain waveform, and a signal-path diagram showing an image tone spuriously reaching a neighboring qubit.

Every microwave pulse that drives a superconducting qubit starts life as a low-frequency baseband waveform on an arbitrary waveform generator, then gets upconverted to gigahertz by an IQ mixer locked to a local oscillator. This 2D simulator computes that upconversion from the exact closed-form I/Q math and lays it out across three linked panels: a live spectrum bar chart of the desired tone, image sideband and LO leakage; a scrubbable time-domain waveform of the literal RF(t) sum; and a signal-path diagram showing the unwanted image tone reaching a neighboring qubit — with the same image-rejection-ratio, carrier-leakage and sideband-purity readouts as the 3D version.
