IQ Mixer Upconversion for Qubit Control
Interactive 3D IQ-mixer simulator: upconvert a baseband control pulse to microwave with a real superconducting-qubit drive chain, and watch gain/phase imbalance and LO leakage spawn an image sideband that can spuriously drive a spectrally neighboring qubit.
Every microwave pulse that drives a superconducting qubit starts life as a low-frequency baseband waveform on an arbitrary waveform generator, then gets upconverted to gigahertz by an IQ mixer locked to a local oscillator. This simulator renders that mixer stage and its coax path to the qubit chip in 3D: tune the mixer's real-world gain and phase imbalance and its LO leakage, and watch an unwanted image sideband and a constant carrier bleed appear alongside the intended drive tone — with a live image-rejection-ratio, carrier-leakage, and sideband-purity readout, and a visual reminder that a poorly calibrated image tone can spuriously drive a spectrally neighboring qubit on a crowded chip.
