The concentration a toxicologist puts into a well is not the dose the cells at the bottom actually see. This simulator renders the ISDD (in vitro sedimentation, diffusion and dosimetry) model in 2D: a cloud of nanoparticles starts uniformly suspended through a media column and each particle is transported by real Stokes settling plus Stokes–Einstein Brownian diffusion until it reaches the cell monolayer at the bottom, while a live concentration-vs-depth histogram and a delivered-dose-vs-time chart track the same one-dimensional transport equation from two other angles. Tune particle diameter, material density, agglomeration state and media viscosity and watch the settling velocity, diffusion coefficient and Péclet number update live — the same transport competition that makes dense agglomerated gold nanoparticles reach cells within minutes while light polystyrene nanospheres can take days.
