Hydrogen blending — injecting green or blue hydrogen into an existing natural-gas pipeline instead of building dedicated H₂ infrastructure — is one of the near-term levers energy networks are actually deploying to cut emissions. This simulator renders the T-junction where a hydrogen line meets the methane stream, streams color-coded gas particles through the merged pipe at the ratio you set, and computes the two numbers that actually govern whether a blend is usable: the Wobbe Index (what burners are rated for) and the energy density delivered per cubic metre. A simplified embrittlement-risk model — scaling with blend fraction, pressure and pipe material — shows why the industry-cited ~20% ceiling exists for ordinary steel pipe, and why hydrogen-rated composite pipe changes the equation.
