Space-Vector PWM Inverter & Motor Drive
Interactive 3D simulator of a three-phase space-vector PWM inverter driving an induction motor: watch the rotating reference vector step through the switching hexagon, the stator winding excite phase by phase, and the rotor spin at synchronous speed under V/f control.
Every variable-frequency motor drive — from an EV traction inverter to a factory pump VFD — works by chopping a fixed DC bus voltage into a synthetic three-phase AC waveform using space-vector PWM. This simulator renders the real six-vector switching hexagon that an SVPWM algorithm steps through, a stator winding that lights up phase by phase as the reference vector rotates, and an induction-motor rotor that spins at the resulting synchronous speed. Adjust fundamental frequency, DC bus voltage and modulation index — or lock them together with V/f control the way a real drive protects its motor from magnetic saturation — and watch live readouts track the active switching sector, the vector angle, peak phase voltage and synchronous speed.
