Loss & Damage Fund: Equity-Gap Phase Plot (2D)

Interactive 2D companion to the 3D Loss and Damage Fund simulator: instead of radial towers and flying particles, twelve climate-vulnerable nations are plotted directly in loss-vs-funded equity space, with a diagonal full-funding line and a live fund-pool gauge, so the same pledge-rate/overhead/severity/allocation dynamics are seen as trajectories relative to an explicit equity reference instead of a 3D scene.

This 2D companion to the 3D Loss and Damage Fund simulator keeps the exact same underlying policy model — twelve climate-vulnerable nations, a shared donor pool, the same loss-accrual and iterative-disbursement equations — but represents it as an equity-space phase plot instead of a 3D scene of towers and flying particles. Every nation is a point whose x-position is its cumulative disaster loss and whose y-position is how much of that loss the fund has actually paid; a 45° reference line marks perfect funding, so the vertical gap between a point and that line is, directly and legibly, the dollar amount that nation has been left to absorb on its own. A trailing path behind each point shows how its funding history evolved, and a separate vertical gauge tracks the pool's live cash balance. Tune the pledge rate, administrative overhead, warming severity and allocation rule to watch whole clusters of nations drift toward or away from the equity line.

⚙ Under the hood

A 2D companion to the 3D Loss and Damage Fund simulator: the same twelve climate-vulnerable nations, donor-pledge inflow and iterative disbursement equations, but plotted directly in loss-vs-funded equity space against a y=x full-funding line instead of rendered as 3D towers and flying particles, with a live fund-balance gauge alongside.
