Autonomous vehicles and mobile robots rely on a continuous sense-plan-act loop to move safely through unpredictable environments. This simulator visualizes that loop directly: a rover sweeps a fan of simulated LIDAR rays across the arena every frame, each ray reporting how far it travels before hitting an obstacle pillar. A reactive planner turns those readings into a steering vector that blends attraction toward the current goal with repulsion away from anything the sensor sees nearby, so the rover weaves between obstacles and re-plans instantly as new ones come into range. Adjust sensor range, obstacle density and planner aggressiveness to see how each changes the rover's ability to reach its goals without collisions.

⚙ Under the hood

This simulation allows users to explore the complex interplay of control algorithms and sensor data within autonomous robotic systems. By manipulating parameters like velocity commands and obstacle avoidance routines, you can observe how these systems react in simulated environments.
