Biosafety Containment Simulator (2D)

Interactive top-down 2D companion to the 3D biosafety containment simulator: raise or lower the BSL barrier level around a hazard core, tune pathogen risk and biosurveillance response, and watch a live compounding breach-risk formula play out as agents are contained or escape.

This top-down 2D companion to the 3D biosafety containment simulator drives the same compounding breach-risk model: a hazard core releases agents that drift outward through concentric barrier rings, each ring rolling a breach chance built from the pathogen's risk factor and the facility's BSL rating (p_shell = risk × (1 − 0.15·BSL), P(escape) = p_shell^BSL). Agents that breach every active ring in a row are marked escaped; a separate monitoring/response rate can still recapture them afterwards. A live stat panel tracks contained vs. escaped counts alongside the theoretical breach-risk percentage as you adjust BSL level, risk factor, monitoring rate and spawn rate.

⚙ Under the hood

A top-down 2D companion to the 3D biosafety containment simulator: adjustable BSL barrier rings around a hazard core, a compounding per-barrier breach-risk formula, and a monitoring/response layer that can recapture escaped agents.
