Prime-Boost Vaccination: Stochastic Clonal Kinetics (2D)

Interactive 2D stochastic immunology simulator: individual plasma-cell and memory-cell clones are born and die by an exact Gillespie jump process, showing why real vaccine responses vary between patients — and sometimes fail — in ways the flagship's smooth deterministic curve cannot.

The 3D flagship of this simulator drives every antibody response from one smooth, deterministic set of ODEs. This 2D companion asks what a vaccine response actually looks like at the level of individual immune cells: only a handful of naive B-cell clones recognize any given epitope, and each is born, divides or dies as a discrete random event, not a continuous flow. Here that is modeled literally — plasma-cell and memory-cell clone counts are advanced by an exact Gillespie-type stochastic jump process while antigen and antibody titer are integrated in closed form between clone events — and six independent "patients" are run side by side from the same prime and booster doses so you can watch real response variability, and even an occasional non-responder, emerge from pure chance rather than from any difference in the vaccine itself. Averaged over many patients, the stochastic model's mean converges to the same deterministic curve the 3D flagship draws — the real law-of-large-numbers relationship between individual-cell biology and population-level pharmacokinetics.
