Cytology Slide: Nuclear Atypia Grader
Interactive diagnostic cytology simulator: adjust nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratio, hyperchromasia, pleomorphism and mitotic rate on a 3D cell smear and watch live Bethesda-style atypia grading, the same criteria cytologists use to read a Pap or fine-needle aspiration slide.
Every diagnostic cytology reading — a cervical Pap smear, a thyroid or lung fine-needle aspirate — comes down to scoring a handful of nuclear features against the cell's cytoplasm. This simulator renders 150 cells as an interactive 3D smear and lets you drive the four criteria a cytopathologist actually looks for: the nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratio, chromatin hyperchromasia, nuclear pleomorphism (how much cells vary from each other) and the mitotic index. A live weighted atypia score maps the slide onto the same Normal → ASC-US → LSIL → HSIL → malignant spectrum used in the Bethesda System, so you can watch a benign-looking field of small dark nuclei and pale cytoplasm turn into the crowded, hyperchromatic, pleomorphic sheet of cells that sends a real specimen to biopsy.
