Stem Cell Bioreactor: Growth Factor & Temperature Control
Interactive stirred-tank bioreactor simulator: tune growth-factor dose, temperature, agitation and nutrient feed to steer a stem cell population between proliferation and lineage differentiation, and watch live cell count, therapeutic yield and viability respond.
This simulation puts you in charge of a stirred-tank bioreactor culturing stem cells for a therapeutic manufacturing run. Every cell floating in the tank is modelled as an individual agent that can divide, commit to a target lineage, or die, with probabilities driven each tick by the growth-factor dose, incubation temperature, impeller agitation and nutrient feed rate you set. Push growth factor up and cells commit to the differentiated, therapeutically useful phenotype (orange) at the cost of losing their proliferative capacity; push temperature or agitation past their optimum and viability drops as thermal or shear stress takes cells out of the culture. Live readouts track total cell count, the therapeutic yield (fraction fully differentiated) and overall culture viability, mirroring the real trade-offs a bioprocess engineer balances when scaling a stem-cell therapy batch.
This simulation allows users to explore the complex process of advanced stem cell therapy, from initial differentiation to controlled bioreactor cultivation. By manipulating parameters like growth factors and temperature, you can observe how these factors influence cell behavior and ultimately impact therapeutic outcomes.
