This simulator models the exact biomechanics behind manual auscultatory blood pressure measurement — the diagnostic technique every clinic vital-signs check still relies on. A 3D cutaway of the arm shows the brachial artery running under an inflatable cuff; as the cuff pressure sweeps from above systolic down past diastolic, the vessel's transmural pressure decides whether flow is fully blocked, turbulently snapping open once per heartbeat, or fully open and laminar. Korotkoff sound is only produced in that middle turbulent window, and the simulator marks the cuff pressure at which the sound first appears and last disappears as the detected systolic and diastolic readings — the same two thresholds a clinician auscultates for.
