A spaser is a nanoscale amplifier: a gold nanoparticle core acts as a resonant cavity for a localized surface plasmon, surrounded by a shell of optically-pumped gain molecules. This simulator integrates the coupled rate equations for molecular population inversion and plasmon field occupation in real time — drive the pump rate up, and watch the gain shell (blue-to-orange dye molecules) build inversion, individual molecules fire stimulated-emission flashes toward the core, and the plasmon field snap from spontaneous noise into a bright, self-sustaining amplified glow once gain overtakes loss at the threshold pump rate.
