A spaser is a nanoscale amplifier: a gold nanoparticle core acts as a resonant cavity for a localized surface plasmon, surrounded by a shell of optically-pumped gain molecules. This 2D canvas simulator integrates the same coupled rate equations as the 3D version for molecular population inversion and plasmon field occupation in real time, and adds two live plots: a numerically-swept steady-state intensity-vs-pump curve that traces out the real lasing threshold, and a time-domain trace of the plasmon field so you can watch it snap from spontaneous noise into a bright, self-sustaining amplified glow once gain overtakes loss.
