Scandium Red Mud Recovery (2D)

2D Bayer-process leach reactor: tune temperature, causticity, iron/silica impurity load and agitation and watch scandium recovery, Fe/Al selectivity and scandium loss update live.

This 2D companion drives the same Bayer-process leach chemistry as the 3D version through a plain reactor cross-section: red-mud grains sink and shrink as they dissolve, teal scandium ions rise into solution at a rate set by the recovery formula, and orange Fe/Al ions appear in proportion to how much selectivity has been given up, so the temperature/causticity/impurity trade-offs that govern real scandium extraction are visible as particle density instead of a spreadsheet.

⚙ Under the hood

2D Bayer-process leach reactor: recovery peaks near a moderate temperature and falls off with excess heat or iron/silica impurity load; selectivity against Fe/Al favours mid-range causticity and also falls with impurity load; agitation only changes how fast the batch approaches these equilibrium values.
