Auroral Electrojet: Precipitation Energy, Conductivity & Current (2D)

2D auroral-electrojet lab: energy-dependent electron penetration depth (Rees range-energy relation), Robinson (1987) ionospheric Pedersen/Hall conductance, dipole-field loss cone and a live electrojet-current readout.

This 2D companion turns the 3D Aurora Ionosphere Current scene into a side-on physics instrument: electrons stream down the dipole field into a shaded atmosphere and stop at an altitude set by the Rees (1963) range–energy relation, coloring the auroral band violet, green or red depending on precipitation energy; a live Robinson (1987) Pedersen/Hall conductance calculation and the resulting electrojet current respond in real time to precipitation energy, particle flux, magnetic latitude and the convection electric field.
