Aggregate Washing Sand Screw 2D — Counter-Current Wash & Dewater
Interactive 2D sand screw washer: an inclined rotating auger conveys sand uphill through a counter-current water bath, washing off clay and silt fines while dewatering the product before discharge.
This 2D side-view model shows an inclined screw (auger) washer the way an aggregate or silica-sand plant runs one: sand enters at the submerged low end, rides the rotating flights uphill through a counter-current water bath that strips clay and silt fines off its surface, then climbs above the waterline into a drainage zone before discharging dry at the top. The screw-speed slider trades residence time for throughput — spin it fast and the sand barely gets washed or drained before it is out the top; slow it down and washing improves but the trough can overload if the feed rate outpaces the screw's conveying capacity. Wash water flow and feed rate both shift the water-to-sand ratio that governs how much clay actually detaches. Live gauges track wash efficiency, product moisture, clean-sand output and fines removed as you tune the three controls.
An inclined rotating screw auger conveys sand uphill through a water bath arranged as true counter-current washing — water flows down as sand moves up, removing clay and silt fines that stay suspended and overflow while denser sand settles and is carried up and dewatered before discharge.
