Ecosystem Services: Pollination, Water & Carbon
Interactive 3D simulation of ecosystem services: bees pollinating a meadow, a forest sequestering carbon, and a wetland filtering water, with a live estimate of the combined economic value these natural processes provide each year.
Nature does an enormous amount of unpaid work: forests pull carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, bees and other pollinators fertilize roughly three-quarters of food crops, and wetlands filter dirty water into clean water for free. This simulation places a forest, a meadow and a wetland side by side so you can adjust forest density, pollinator numbers and wetland size and watch each service respond — while a running estimate shows the combined economic value all three services are quietly generating per year.
