Conservation Tillage Carbon Balance

Interactive 3D soil-carbon simulator: adjust tillage intensity and cover-crop carbon input on a cropland field and watch soil organic carbon build up or erode under a real first-order kinetics model, with live SOC stock, sequestration rate and years-to-equilibrium readouts.

A cropland field rendered as a grid of soil-carbon columns whose height tracks a real first-order soil organic carbon (SOC) model: dC/dt = I − k·C, the same steady-state form used in the RothC family of soil-carbon models. Tillage intensity accelerates the decomposition constant k by breaking open protected soil aggregates, while cover-crop carbon input raises the equilibrium SOC stock C_eq = I/k. Watch the field build carbon under no-till and cover crops, or lose it again once intensive tillage resumes, with live readouts for SOC stock, years elapsed, sequestration rate and the equilibrium the field is heading toward.
