Firebrand Spotting Distance — Phase-Space Map
2D firebrand-transport simulator: a wind-speed × ember-diameter spotting-distance map plus a live distance-vs-diameter phase plot reveal the same terminal-velocity fall, wind advection and burn-out physics as the 3D version, from a parameter-space view instead of a flight path.
This is the same terminal-velocity fall, wind-advection and burn-out physics as the flight-path firebrand simulator, but rendered as two 2D-native views instead of a 3D scene: a wind-speed × ember-diameter parameter sweep showing exactly where the "sweet spot" for maximum spotting distance sits, and a live downwind-distance-vs-remaining-diameter phase plot that reveals how a firebrand's burn state and travel distance evolve together. Adjust wind speed, ember size and plume height to watch both views update, and launch bursts to see individual embers trace their own distance/diameter curves toward a hot landing, a cold landing, or burning out mid-flight.
