Adaptive Wildfire Firebreak Controller (2D)
Interactive 2D wildfire firebreak simulator: a wind-driven cellular-automaton fire spreads across a forest grid you can pan and zoom, while a real-time controller reallocates a limited firebreak material budget toward the segments detecting the highest heat flux. A live per-segment bar panel shows the feedback loop working in real time.
A wind-driven cellular-automaton wildfire spreads across a top-down forest grid toward a line of six firebreak segments. Instead of a fixed, pre-placed break, a real-time controller measures the heat flux approaching each segment and reallocates a limited firebreak-material budget toward the hottest ones every control tick — exactly the "smart" reactive containment strategy real fire crews use when redirecting limited dozer lines or retardant drops. Tune wind speed and direction, the total material budget, controller responsiveness, and the raw fire physics, then pan and zoom the grid while a live per-segment bar panel shows the feedback loop reallocating material as the front shifts.
