Corporate GHG Reporting: Stock-Flow Carbon Ledger (2D)

Interactive 2D carbon-ledger simulator: unlike the 3D version's instanced molecule cloud around a spinning globe, this model draws a real system-dynamics stock-flow diagram — three annual emissions pipes filling an atmospheric reservoir over the reporting horizon — side by side with a live-plotted IPCC logarithmic radiative-forcing curve, both driven by the same independently-computed carbon accounting.

This 2D companion to the 3D radiative-forcing globe keeps the same real-world subject — a GHG Protocol Scope 1/2/3 climate audit and the IPCC's logarithmic CO2 forcing formula — but renders it as a genuine system-dynamics diagram instead of a decorative 3D scene. Three emissions pipes, sized by their own annual rate, drain into an atmosphere reservoir whose fill level is animated across the actual reporting horizon year by year, while a second panel plots the real forcing-vs-concentration curve live, with a marker tracing along it as the reservoir fills. Tune each scope's rate and the horizon, then run a verification audit to see how far a self-reported total can drift from an independent measurement — especially for the hard-to-certify Scope 3 line.

⚙ Under the hood

Set a company's Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse-gas emissions the way a real climate audit reports them and watch a 2D system-dynamics stock-flow diagram — three emission pipes filling an atmosphere reservoir over the reporting horizon — while a live-plotted IPCC logarithmic radiative-forcing curve tracks the exact CO2 concentration and forcing produced, independently computed and rendered without any 3D scene.
