Faceted Stealth Geometry: Radar Cross-Section Explorer
Interactive physical-optics radar cross-section (RCS) simulator: sweep a ground radar around a faceted low-observable airframe vs. a conventional boxy airframe and watch specular glints appear and vanish as facet normals rotate away from the radar.
Low-observable aircraft don't make radar reflections disappear — they redirect them. This simulator builds two lofted low-poly airframes from the same physical-optics rules: a "faceted stealth" shape whose flat panels are deliberately tilted so no two are parallel or perpendicular (the design logic behind angular aircraft like the F-117), and a conventional shape whose panels sit square to the body axes. Sweep a ground radar around the aircraft in azimuth and depression angle and watch each facet's live specular return — every panel's radar cross-section is computed from its real area, its angle to the radar line of sight, and the radar's wavelength, then summed into a total RCS reported in both square meters and dBsm, alongside a live polar plot of the return versus bearing.
