This 2D companion renders the same magnitude/depth/tide wave model as the 3D scene as a side-on cross-section: an earthquake offshore sends a wave across the continental shelf that visibly shoals as the sea floor rises, then strikes a coastline you can protect with a sea wall or breakwater, with live wave-height, run-up and time-to-coast readouts tracking the same formulas driving the 3D version.

⚙ Under the hood

2D cross-section tsunami lab: magnitude, ocean depth and tide feed a first-order wave-height and run-up model, shown shoaling across the shelf and striking a coastline defended by a selectable sea wall or breakwater.
