Hydrogen-Deuterium Exchange Mass Spectrometry (HDX-MS) — 2D Map
Interactive 2D HDX-MS simulator: watch a top-down deuterium-uptake map of a folded biologic's backbone spread over exposure time, compare native vs destabilized conformations, and drag/zoom to inspect which peptide segments a comparability study would flag.
Hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry probes a biologic's higher-order structure (HOS) by soaking it in heavy water and measuring how fast backbone amide hydrogens swap for deuterium — buried, hydrogen-bonded regions exchange slowly while flexible surface loops exchange almost instantly. This simulator renders a folded backbone as a top-down 2D map, colors each peptide segment by its live %D uptake as exposure time advances on a log scale, and lets you toggle between a native fold and a destabilized conformation to see exactly which segments a real comparability study would flag as significantly perturbed — drag to pan and scroll to zoom into the map.
A top-down 2D map of a folded protein backbone whose residues change color in real time as deuterium uptake (%D) builds up on a log-scale exposure-time slider; toggle native vs destabilized conformation to see which peptide segments a comparability study would flag, then drag to pan and scroll to zoom into the map.
