A solar active region stores magnetic free energy as its field lines are sheared by differential rotation. This simulator renders that active region in 3D — a granulated sun with a small cluster of glowing coronal loops — and lets the stored energy either build to a threshold and release itself, or be released on demand with the trigger button, exactly modelling magnetic reconnection. The resulting burst of X-rays is plotted live as a GOES-style light curve and classified on the real A/B/C/M/X scale used by NOAA space-weather forecasters, with an optional coronal mass ejection of plasma streaming outward from the reconnection site.
