Brown dwarfs at the L/T spectral transition are thought to carry broken, patchy cloud decks rather than a uniform overcast — and as the object spins on its axis, those patches rotate in and out of view and modulate the light we receive. This simulator renders a 3D substellar photosphere with instanced silicate cloud patches sweeping across the disk, and plots the resulting light curve in real time as you adjust rotation period, cloud coverage, viewing inclination and cloud/clear brightness contrast — the same rotational-modulation signal real infrared monitoring campaigns (e.g. of Luhman 16B) use to map substellar weather.
