3D Space Elevator Tether Simulator
Rotating 3D space elevator: watch a tapered tether, real geostationary anchor and counterweight spin with Earth while a fleet of climbers hauls cargo along it, its shape and color built directly from the gravity-vs-centrifugal tension profile.
This is the same gravity-vs-centrifugal tension physics as the 2D tether analysis, rendered as the real rotating geometry: Earth turns once per sidereal day, the tether corotates rigidly with it, and its shape — thin at the ground, thick at geostationary orbit, thin again at the counterweight — is a body of revolution built directly from the tension profile of an optimally tapered cable. A fleet of climbers hauls cargo up and down the tether simultaneously, each one feeling more or less of the tether's own centrifugal pull depending on where it is. Adjust the counterweight mass, anchor altitude and material to watch the tether's shape and stress coloring change in real time, and see whether the design survives.
Visualize an optimal taper for the rotating tether, with fleets of climbers traversing it according to real-world physics.
