Aurora Borealis & Starfield (2D)

A 2D canvas companion to the 3D aurora scene: animated gradient ribbons driven by the same double-sine wave math, a twinkling starfield, and periodic shooting stars — with live controls for intensity, speed, density and meteor frequency.

This 2D companion reproduces the 3D scene's aurora ribbons and starfield on a plain canvas: each aurora band is drawn as a filled, colour-graded path whose vertical offset follows the same two-term sine wave used in the original's vertex shader, twinkling stars pulse in brightness on a per-star sine cycle, and shooting stars spawn on a timer and fade out along a short trail. Sliders let you push the aurora amplitude and drift speed, change how many stars are drawn, control how often meteors appear, and swap the aurora's colour palette.
