Orbit Radiation-Belt Dose Planner (2D)
Design a circular or elliptical satellite orbit in a top-down 2D view and watch a live radiation-dose readout spike whenever it crosses Earth's Van Allen belts — the inner proton belt or the outer electron belt. Compare LEO, GPS-like MEO, and GEO presets.
This 2D companion drives the same Kepler orbital mechanics and Van Allen belt dose model as the 3D version through a plain top-down view: Earth sits at the center with the inner proton belt and outer electron belt drawn as concentric rings, the satellite's orbit path is traced and colored wherever it crosses a belt, and a live chart plots cumulative dose over time so you can directly compare how an LEO, MEO, or GEO orbit accumulates radiation exposure.
2D top-down orbit-design lab using the same Kepler mechanics and belt-crossing dose model as the 3D scene: pick a circular or elliptical orbit and watch dose rate spike whenever the orbit crosses Earth's Van Allen belts.
