Rumors and shared beliefs — including UFO sightings — don't spread through a population uniformly; they spread along a social network, and the shape of that network matters as much as how convincing the story is. This simulator runs a Susceptible–Believer–Skeptic contact process across two networks of the same size and average connectivity: a classroom-like small-world graph with tight local clusters, and a sparser network of scattered acquaintances with no such clustering. Watch the believer-fraction curves diverge as the rumor saturates the tightly-knit group far faster, even though both start from an identical seed and identical per-contact transmission probability — a direct, visual demonstration of why dense, high-clustering social groups like school classes are such efficient amplifiers of shared belief.
