Bioreactor Scale-Up Criterion Comparator

Scale a stirred-tank bioreactor from bench to production volume under a chosen scale-up rule (constant P/V, tip speed, kLa or mixing time) and watch the metrics you did NOT hold constant drift apart in a live 3D twin-tank view.

Scaling a stirred-tank bioreactor from a 10 L bench vessel to a production-size tank is not one calculation — it is a choice among several competing rules, and the rule you pick determines which process attributes stay faithful to the bench run and which ones silently drift. This simulator renders a bench and a production vessel side by side, each with a rotating Rushton-turbine impeller sized by geometric similarity, and lets you choose whether the scale-up holds power-per-volume, impeller tip speed, oxygen mass-transfer coefficient (kLa) or mixing time constant. Live readouts show the resulting production impeller speed and how far the three quantities you did not anchor deviate from their bench values, while a tracer-dye injection animates each vessel reaching homogeneity at a rate paced by its own computed mixing time — a direct, visual demonstration of why regulatory tech-transfer and lot-comparability protocols exist.
