Hydroelectric Power: Head, Gate & Turbine Load (2D)

A 2D cross-section of a dam: drag reservoir head, gate opening, turbine load match and turbine count and watch water particles flow from reservoir to turbine while power, RPM, flow and efficiency update live from the same P = η·ρ·g·Q·H relation that drives the 3D version.

This 2D companion drives the same P = η·ρ·g·Q·H power relation as the 3D hydroelectric sim through a flat cross-section view built for reading the physics rather than orbiting a scene: a side panel exposes reservoir head, dam gate opening, turbine load match and turbine count, animated water particles trace a curved path from the reservoir surface through the penstock to the spinning turbines, and four live readouts — power output, turbine RPM, flow rate and efficiency — update every frame so you can see exactly how each control trades off against the others, including the efficiency penalty of a turbine load that doesn't match the flow.

⚙ Under the hood

2D cross-section hydro-dam lab: reservoir head, gate opening, turbine load match and turbine count drive Q = flowMax·(gate/100)·turbines and P = η·ρ·g·Q·H, with animated water particles and a live power/RPM/flow/efficiency readout panel.
