A nuclear reactor is fundamentally a heat-management problem: fuel rods generate thermal energy through fission, and coolant must remove that heat fast enough to keep the fuel within safe limits. This simulator visualizes a simplified pressurized-water reactor core — an array of fuel rods that heat up according to reactor power, and a coolant loop of particles that carry that heat to a heat exchanger and back to the pump. Lower the coolant flow rate to reproduce a loss-of-coolant accident and watch fuel temperature climb toward the automatic SCRAM trip, or trigger the emergency shutdown yourself to see how quickly control-rod insertion collapses heat generation.
