Magnetic Drum Separator: Magnetite Recovery (2D)

A flat 2D belt-and-drum view of the same magnetic separator lab as the 3D version: set the field strength, ore feed rate and particle size, then watch magnetite grains cling to the rotating drum while gangue keeps falling into the tailings bin.

This 2D companion runs the same closed-form recovery, grade and capture-chance formulas as the 3D magnetic-drum lab: ore rides a belt into the field of a rotating drum, magnetite grains cling to it past the drop point and fall into a separate concentrate chute, while non-magnetic gangue keeps its normal ballistic path into the tailings bin. Drawn as a flat side-on view, the split between the two streams is easier to follow than in the orbiting 3D scene.

⚙ Under the hood

2D magnetic drum separator: a real capture-chance formula (field strength minus penalties for coarse particles and feed overload) decides which magnetite grains are deflected into the concentrate versus the tailings, with live recovery and grade readouts driven by the same model as the 3D lab.
