🏖️ Granular Materials Pile Simulation (2D)

A real-time 2D discrete-element simulation of granular particles: gravity, inelastic collisions and Coulomb friction between circular grains that pour into a pile and settle at a physically correct angle of repose. Adjust friction, grain size, particle count and shake the container.

⚙ Under the hood

A real-time 2D discrete-element simulation of granular particles: circular grains fall under gravity, collide inelastically, and grip each other through Coulomb friction as they pour into a pile. Tune the friction coefficient, grain size and particle count and watch the heap settle at a physically correct angle of repose, or flip on the shake toggle to see it slump and reflow.
