🧠 Cognitive Neuroscience Brain Network (2D)
2D companion: major brain regions as connected nodes on a ring — send a stimulus in and watch activation propagate along the connectome edges in real time.
This 2D companion runs the same connectome activation model as the 3D version — regions fire once their activity crosses the excitability threshold, then relax back down — but lays every node out flat on a ring instead of a rotating sphere, so the whole network and every firing pulse stay in view at once without needing to orbit the camera.
Brain regions sit as nodes on a ring, wired by connectome-density edges; a stimulus input rate drives random activation, and any node crossing the excitability threshold fires and relaxes back to baseline.
