Nanotechnology is reshaping food safety: nanosensors embedded directly in packaging film can detect spoilage biomarkers at the molecular level, and "active packaging" nanocapsules can respond automatically by releasing antimicrobial agents. This simulator models both halves of that loop in 3D — a diffusing biomarker field spreading outward from a spoiling food surface, a grid of colorimetric nanosensor nodes that shift from green to amber to red as local concentration crosses a trigger threshold, and an antimicrobial nanocapsule burst that measurably slows bacterial growth once enough sensors fire. Adjust storage temperature, starting bacterial load and the sensor threshold, and compare active vs. passive packaging to see how each variable changes the time to spoilage.
