Halide crystals like NaI(Tl), CsI(Tl) and CaF₂(Eu) are the working material inside every gamma-ray spectrometer, PET/CT scanner and radiation portal monitor: each absorbed gamma photon triggers a burst of visible-light "scintillation" photons whose count is proportional to the deposited energy. This simulator renders a real ion lattice, fires gamma photons at a chosen energy into it, animates the resulting light cascade reaching a photomultiplier tube, and accumulates a genuine pulse-height spectrum — including the Poisson-statistics peak broadening that limits every real detector's energy resolution.
