Nanowire CVD Growth Designer (2D)

Interactive 2D vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) nanowire growth simulator with the real Gibbs-Thomson-corrected growth-rate law: tune supersaturation, growth temperature and catalyst droplet diameter, and watch smaller-diameter wires grow slower until growth stops below a real critical diameter.

Nanomaterial design is not just a shape you draw — it's a growth process you control. This 2D cross-section simulator models vapor–liquid–solid (VLS) chemical vapor deposition using the real Gibbs–Thomson-corrected growth-rate law: growth rate is proportional to the precursor's driving force minus a curvature-energy penalty that scales as 1/diameter, so thinner catalyst droplets measurably slow the wire down and, below a genuine critical diameter, stop growth altogether. Tune supersaturation, growth temperature and catalyst droplet diameter, then start the run and watch the wire build itself layer by layer while a live growth-rate-vs-diameter chart tracks exactly where the current droplet size sits relative to that cutoff.

⚙ Under the hood

Grow a semiconductor nanowire by the vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) mechanism: tune growth temperature, precursor pressure and catalyst droplet size, and watch the wire elongate layer by layer at an Arrhenius-controlled rate.
