Gene set enrichment analysis is the standard pathway-analysis method used across genomics: rather than testing genes one at a time, it asks whether a whole biological pathway shifts together toward the top or bottom of a gene list ranked by differential expression. This simulator builds a synthetic ranked list, lets you pick how a pathway's genes are distributed across that ranking (concentrated at the top, at the bottom, or scattered randomly), and computes the real running-sum enrichment-score statistic live in a 3D scene laid out like a published GSEA plot — ranked-list bars, hit barcode, and running score curve stacked together. A built-in permutation test turns the peak enrichment score into a significance estimate, the same logic used to decide whether a pathway hit is real or noise.
