Heart Rate Variability: R-R Interval & RMSSD (2D)

A Canvas2D companion to the 3D HRV lab: the same R-R interval model — a mean-reverting random walk plus respiratory sinus arrhythmia — drives a scrolling ECG-like trace and live RMSSD / heart-rate readouts.

This 2D companion drives the same R-R interval model as the 3D version — a mean-reverting random walk plus a respiratory sinus arrhythmia sine term — through a flat scrolling ECG-like trace instead of an orbiting scene, so the beat-to-beat stretching and compressing that RMSSD measures is easier to read straight off the line.

⚙ Under the hood

Each R-R interval is the state's mean interval plus a mean-reverting random walk, a sine-shaped RSA term at the state's breathing frequency, and small jitter; RMSSD is the root-mean-square of successive R-R differences over a rolling 20-beat buffer.
