Hemorrhage Compensation: MAP, Baroreflex & the Decompensation Cliff (2D)
2D hemorrhagic-shock lab: MAP = CO × TPR driven by a real time-delayed baroreceptor reflex — set blood-loss volume, bleed rate, reflex gain and response time-constant and watch compensated shock hold blood pressure until reserve runs out at the decompensation cliff.
This 2D companion drives the same hemorrhagic-shock physiology as the 3D version through a plain canvas dashboard built for reading the control loop rather than watching a body scene: a side panel exposes blood-loss volume, bleed duration, baroreceptor reflex gain and response time-constant, four live strip charts trace mean arterial pressure, heart rate, total peripheral resistance and remaining blood volume over time, and a phase badge reports Normal / Compensated / Decompensated shock in real time — so the exact point where rising heart rate and vasoconstriction can no longer defend blood pressure, the decompensation cliff, is directly visible on the MAP trace instead of implied by a fixed class table.
2D hemorrhagic-shock lab driven by MAP = CO × TPR, with a time-delayed baroreceptor reflex (first-order lag, adjustable gain and time-constant) raising heart rate and peripheral resistance as blood loss lowers preload — until the compensatory reserve is exhausted and mean arterial pressure crashes at the decompensation cliff.
