Medical Transcriptomics 2D: One Genome, Many Cell Identities

A 2D linear-map view of a single shared DNA strand: pick a liver cell, neuron, skin cell or muscle cell and watch only that cell type's gene loci open, dock transcription factors and stream RNA — while every other locus stays dark on the exact same molecule.

This 2D companion strips the double helix down to a flat, readable linear map of the same 13-locus genome used by the 3D version: pick a cell type and only that cell's characteristic loci brighten, dock small transcription-factor dots at their promoter, and stream RNA specks upward, while housekeeping genes stay lit in every cell and everything else on the strand stays dark. A speed slider and pause button let you slow the transcription animation down to inspect a single locus switching on, and the same live gene table from the 3D version tracks every gene's active/silent state as you switch cells.

⚙ Under the hood

2D linear-map version of the shared-genome model: select a liver cell, neuron, skin cell or muscle cell and watch chromatin open, transcription factors dock and RNA stream only at that cell type's gene loci along a single shared DNA strand.
