Self-Healing Materials Simulator
Interactive 3D microcapsule self-healing composite: click the panel to strike a crack, watch embedded microcapsules rupture and release liquid healing agent that meets a dispersed catalyst, flows into the crack and cures, with a mechanical-strength gauge tracking partial recovery.
Microcapsule-based self-healing composites embed a liquid monomer healing agent and a dispersed catalyst directly in the matrix, so damage triggers its own repair. This simulator lets you strike the material to open a crack, watch the capsules along its path rupture and release agent, and follow the cure as mechanical strength partially recovers.
Strike a composite panel to open a crack and watch embedded microcapsules rupture along its path, releasing liquid monomer that meets a dispersed catalyst, flows into the gap and cures. A mechanical-strength gauge drops on impact and recovers most, not all, of the loss as healing completes.
