⚙️ Galvanic Corrosion & Sacrificial Anode Simulator
Interactive galvanic corrosion simulator: pick a metal pair, watch electrochemical corrosion eat the less noble anode while the cathode stays protected, or switch to sacrificial-anode mode and see a zinc rod protect a steel hull.
3D electrochemistry sandbox: pick a metal pair (Zn-Fe, Fe-Cu, Zn-Cu, Al-Cu, Mg-Fe, Ni-Cu) submerged in an electrolyte tank and watch the less noble metal act as the anode, losing ions and turning rust-brown while electrons flow through the external wire to the protected cathode. Corrosion rate scales with the electrode-potential gap (from the on-screen activity series) and an adjustable salinity slider. A second mode swaps in a sacrificial zinc anode wired to a steel hull, showing cathodic protection in action and what happens to the hull if the anode is disconnected.
