Real nanosensors are rarely perfectly selective — this simulator models a cross-reactive nanosensor array of eight distinctly functionalized elements (metal-oxide, noble-metal nanoparticle, carbon-nanotube and polymer coatings), each with its own partial affinity to four analyte gases. Choosing an analyte and concentration drives every sensor's resistance change according to its own affinity coefficient, producing a unique multidimensional response pattern rendered as a live 3D bar array. A correlation-based classifier then compares the measured pattern to each analyte's reference fingerprint and reports the best match and confidence, demonstrating how electronic-nose-style arrays identify chemicals from response shape rather than any single sensor's reading — and how noise or a smaller array degrades that discrimination.
