Smartwatch Ambient Mode Power Budget (2D)
Interactive 2D smartwatch power-budget simulator: toggle ambient/always-on display mode, drag to spin the dial, tune complication refresh rate, BLE companion-sync frequency and raise-to-wake events, and watch a live power-breakdown chart and battery-drain graph respond in real time.
Every smartwatch OS — watchOS, Wear OS — spends most of its energy budget on the display, not the sensors. This simulator renders the AMOLED watch face as a 2D ring of individually lit pixels you can drag to spin, alongside a live stacked power-breakdown chart and a scrolling battery-drain graph, all driven by a real power-accounting model: ambient (always-on) mode keeps only a sparse dim subset lit at a low refresh rate, while active mode lights the whole panel bright at 60 Hz. Complication refreshes, phone BLE sync events and raise-to-wake gestures each add their own energy cost per occurrence, and the projected battery life is integrated live from instantaneous draw against a configurable battery capacity — the same accounting real wearable firmware uses to hit its advertised runtime.
