🧪 Athletic Hurdles Simulation

Interactive 3D hurdling simulator: tune approach speed, takeoff angle, takeoff distance and barrier height and watch a sprinter's center-of-mass trajectory clear (or clip) the hurdle, with live clearance margin, flight time and landing distance.

Clearing a track hurdle is projectile motion with a human athlete standing in for the launched object. This simulator models a sprinter's center of mass as it leaves the ground before the barrier, arcs over it, and lands on the far side, driven entirely by the same kinematic equations that govern any ballistic trajectory. Adjust approach speed, takeoff angle, how far before the barrier the athlete launches, and the barrier's own height, and watch the 3D runner clear the hurdle — or clip it — while live readouts report the clearance margin over the bar, total time spent airborne, and how far past the hurdle the athlete lands.

⚙ Under the hood

This simulation focuses on the physics of hurdle running, allowing users to experiment with stride length, approach angle, and hurdle height to optimize their performance.
