Pyrolysis is the chemical-recycling route used when contamination or mixed polymers make mechanical sorting and reprocessing impractical: waste plastic is heated in an oxygen-free rotary kiln until its polymer chains thermally crack into pyrolysis oil, permanent gas and a small char residue. This simulator models the reactor as a real first-order Arrhenius decomposition — pick a feedstock (PE, PP or PS), set the kiln temperature, and watch the instanced feedstock chunks tumble and disappear as the solid mass converts, while live readouts track the remaining solid fraction, the instantaneous rate constant and half-life, and a continuously-updated oil/gas/char mass balance that shifts toward more gas at higher cracking temperatures.
